September 6th 2006 Two vintages selected by the "Hachette Guide"!
The Domaine de Lansac was rewarded once more this year by the Guide Hachette des Vins, the reference among wine guides.
For the second year in a row, our Chardonnay is mentionned, and the red Saint Louis 2003 wins one star for the first time. Indeed, tasters have found that "this Carignan aged on oak establishes itself as a concentrated long-keeping wine, with light fruit aromas, and prensent but smooth tannins: a wine that will be able to stand a game meal."
So do not hesitate to (re)discover these two exceptionnal vintages at the Domaine's or by our sellers.

extract of an article published in the Daily Telegraph, on May 10th 2006 The best-kept secret in Provence
Savour the cherries, rosés and poppies of southern France now, before the crowds arrive, says Nigel Horne.
Provençal insiders are notorious for guarding their tastiest secrets - where to find the best goat's cheese, for instance, or the name of a certain vin de pays that Frenchmen pass off as Châteauneuf-du-Pape and no one can tell the difference.
But this secret comes free: now is the time to go. Drop everything and enjoy the Provençal summer as it should be: the pools are open, the vines are sprouting, the villas are much better value than in summer, the sun is warm enough for sunbathing but gentle enough for sightseeing, and the bijou hill villages, impassable in high summer, are a joy.
(...)
The most enticing reasons to visit right now are to be first in line for the new season's cherries, to glimpse the first poppies, and to savour the first of the 2005 rosé - the three reds that evoke the start of summer in Provence.
(...)
My third red is actually pink. I know that rosé is not taken seriously by wine snobs and, yes, it tastes like mouthwash back in England. But nothing heralds a Provençal summer quite like a glass or two of local rosé at a simple lunch in the shade of the plane trees.
I was assured before I left London that just as 2005 is proving a vintage year for claret, so the 2005 rosé, is particularly fruity and delicious, benefiting from a perfect summer of sunshine and a timely rainfall three weeks before the grapes were picked last September.

THREE GOOD ROSES - AND WHERE TO DRINK THEM
* Fonscolombe Rosé Cuvée Spéciale 2005 (...)
* Château Barbanau Rosé 2005 (...)
* Domaine de Lansac Rosé 2005: A simple vin de pays from the Bouches-du-Rhône area. If you take a villa in this area - Les Baux, Saint Rémy - buy a case on day one at €3.80 a bottle. Or taste it first at the Bistrot du Paradou near Les Baux, one of the jolliest restaurants in Provence. €42 for lunch - but that includes wine, four courses and coffee (tel: 00 33 4 90 54 32 70). |
January 2006 Latest guide to Wines and Health in bookstores
The 11th Wines and Health guide has just been published, supported by the famous cardiologist Christian Cabrol. The ambition it claims is very clear: to "liberate the wine, and stop the confusion with other alcohols". Because it is now proven that a moderate but regular consumption of wine has positive effects on health, such as what the studies realized by Mr. Edmond Méroni in the course of his Mediterranean Nutrition program showed (see the last part of the guide).
For the first time, Domaine de Lansac has been selected by this reference book for its last vintage awarded by gold (Paris, 2005): Les Quatre Reines year 2004.
The estate of Eléonore de Sabran has been particularly highlighted thanks to many photos, that we have made ourselves... and that you have now to discover amid this guide! |
September 2005 Domaine de Lansac's Chardonnay selected by the "Hachette Wine Guide"
The 2006 edition of the famous Hachette Wine Guide has selected our Chardonnay 2004. Noted with one star (which means "very effective wine"), the professional tasters underlined the very good balance of this wine, as well as its long lasting taste in the mouth.
This is a distinction which especially honours our cellar master, who harvests the white grapes at night and work the wine so as to let all its flavors develop naturally. |
July 2005 The latest of our golden-medaled wines is now available
Our vintage "Les Quatre Reines" (The Four Queens) year 2004, which was awarded by a golden medal in Paris in 2005, is now on sale.
Thus Eléonore de Sabran and Jean-Michel Palot invite you to come and discover this wine, its dark violet colour, and its wonderful aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry and spices.
To taste with sauce meals or cheese from now on, even if it can still be kept aside for a couple of years and more. |
